Ready for a nautical adventure game of placing exploration cubes and connecting trading posts? You'll get all of that and more in this pattern movement, hidden victory points game by AEG.
The Guild of Merchant Explorers uses flip and place as the simultaneous action for all players, but everyone will quickly diverge from their opponents' strategies when they earn unique Investigation Cards that allow them to navigate into new places on their map. With four maps and several objective cards for each map, this game is super replayable and enjoyable for all ages. I love the time it takes to play (under an hour) and the ease with which to teach it. Watch it here: youtu.be/qDtm7OlX5JY

Both share set collection and open drafting as their main mechanics, but you'll have to check out the debate between the Kims to find out more details about these two card games. Check it out here: youtu.be/5FOY5BBihRc Check out the 3 things I like about Caesar! Seize Rome in 20 Minutes. It's a fast-player battle game that is full of smart moves and clever planning.
There is a simple, streamlined ruleset that makes this game highly addictive and with two advanced province tokens to use along with a solo variant, Caesar will top my best 2-player games for the near future. And I'm giving away a copy of this game. Check out in the video how to get your name in this free giveaway. The giveaway is open to US residents only and the giveaway will close one week after airing. Thanks for all your great comments!
