Also, stay for my answer to these two questions: Which game would I sell? and Which game do I want to play right now? Watch it here: youtu.be/MzWutHhA4O8 There's a new trend of heartier Roll & Writes and Flip & Writes hitting the gaming community. I've got three right here for you that will keep you busy for quite a while.
On BGG, they are ranked in complexity from 2.81/5 to 3.12/5 and circle the 8/10 score! Check out what I like about these cool games and then let me know in the comments below what your take is on these Roll & Writes (and a sneaky Flip & Write). Watch it here: youtu.be/FlK9usnkQPY Coming to Kickstarter in March! Check out what Pathways offers players, how to win, and why you should be as excited about this game as I am.
Love dexterity games? How about a game that reminds you of Crokinole? Want just a 2-player game? Pathways IS the game for you! Flick your discs to make pathways and dunk them in the faraway row to best your opponent. But be careful that you don't make a pathway for them to sink thier own discs. You've got 12 opportunities to score each round and the first player to reach 11 points wins! Watch it here: youtu.be/Y4--kWAbun0 All bets are in! And it's looking good:)
Long Shot: The Dice Game is out for delivery across the world and I just got my copy. In this video, I'll give you a closer look at this dice version of a Tolson household favorite: Long Shot. Check out how the game works, what mini-expansions the Kickstarter gives, and what my favorite parts of the game is. P.S. I'm loving all the many different names for the horses (Kickstarter backer named!). Watch it here: youtu.be/NXMufbaop_4 Openly draft puzzle tiles that you want to complete in this fast-paced abstract game. And hopefully you outsmart your opponents by selecting the necessary polyomino pieces to be the most efficient.
There's just enough strategy and challenge in this game, and I think you'll appreciate how lovely the components are. I love the tactile nature of this game. With expansions including larger pieces and new, cool tiles, Project L is endlessly playable and a fun brain burner. Each game lasts around 30 minutes, which makes it easy to play another one right away. Watch it here: youtu.be/M7ptEJ9XBgQ Check out Overboss, a cool puzzly and fun set collection game. And with the same designer as Calico, it's hard to go wrong!
This is a fast-paced tile laying game for 1-5 players, and the solo challenges are pretty cool. The open drafting mechanic for Overboss reminds me a lot of Cascadia, so if you liked that top game of 2021, you might like Overboss. Watch it here: youtu.be/C_zwxev39Uc 3 DR.
